Sad Anniversary

Just a little reminder that forty-three years ago today the Monon was no more, and the era of the L&N had begun.  The Monon ceased to exist at midnight on July 31, 1971, a sad day for us all.
Attached is a photo taken that last day of the last Monon local on the south end, northbound at Guthrie, In. with Cookie Eberhard waving at the crew.  / Ron
