Ron Marquardt's article, "A Day in the Life", was well remembered, well written and very much enjoyed. I ask, did Ron keep a journal during those 39 years? I hope my memory remains as keen and focused. What a resource Ron is!

I agree, it is a very interesting article. I wonder how today's crews with 2 know what's going on on the rear end with a FRED that has replaced the caboose. I know some locals that have to run with the locomotive pushing still have a caboose for the crew member that is on the head end.
