Monon Diesel displays
« on: January 23, 2025, 11:56:57 am »
The Monon had many occasions where they displayed their new Diesel power and equipment from 1947 through 1949. Among the public displays of which I had been unaware were this cut-away view of an EMD F-unit at Indianapolis Union Station in November 1949, and number 62 A-A set open for public inspection at the downtown Hammond Depot from January 1947.

Another Hammond Times photo. A very nice, crisp photo at that. With gleaming new paint and lozenge herald, A group of Monon brass poses next to brand-spankin' new F-3 number 51.
