THE MONON LIVES ON

Good morning, everyone.

I knew NICTD was running test trains this week, so I ventured out last night in the hopes of catching one of the 79mph runs. Here's a southbound (timetable east) blasting through South Hammond and across 173rd Street, heading towards Dyer.

It was dumb luck that I noticed that an eastbound had a clear signal at 173rd yesterday, so I stopped to see what was up because I haven't seen any posts about daylight testing. Sure enough, a crew qualification train was heading towards Dyer, so I was happy to actually catch a daylight train before revenue service begins. It was a grab shot so the video is a bit shakier than usual.

If that water tower could talk...
