Unidentified section gang. No information on date and location.  Anyone recognize any of these men, or the location??

It might be at Monon, but I can't think where you would have the end of a passing track next to houses with that much open space beyond.  Sharon, you on this topic?

I agree with Mike. I do not think it is Monon.   In the 50s and 60s I knew most of the section hands but I do not know any of them.

I really wasn't sure myself. There was nothing as far as information with the photo. That is why I mentioned that it could be Monon.

The worker second from right is Joe Fetterhoff.
His Great Niece ID'd him.

Very good Gene. By any chance does the Niece know where he worked? That might provide details and clues of the location.

My database has Joe Fetterhoff working as a laborer in the diesel shop at Lafayette.
Not correct?  Did he actually work on the Section Gang?

Current entry reads as follows:
Fetterhoff   Joe   H      Laborer - Diesel Shop, Lafayette   1/24/65 - 7/31/71   b. 9/21/18   lived in Delphi; resigned.

Joe's great niece said she thought he worked at Delphi.

Is it possible that the photo is North Delphi near the stone quarry? There was a short switching track and the houses are close to the ROW.

Never considered Delphi Gene. Since we know that Joe worked at Delphi, yes, it certainly could be Delphi.

We have two photos of this gang in the archives.  The only man identified is Joe Fetterhoff (although on the back of the photo it was spelled Fetterough, which may or may not be wrong), and they were listed as working at either Delphi or Rossville.  / Ron
