Wow, nice textures on the trees!  Is that a new graphics package?

No

I made all new tree blocks using 512 textures from individual trees to match up all the different trees in each season.

Also, do you see the FPS in the bottom right, pretty good for what you see!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow Rick, Pic 0 reminds me of where 231 crosses the tracks near the restaurant (looking East) from your shot.
Is that what it is?

Nice work!

Oops - I was referring to the Greencastle pics in my post.  I don't know if that made sense or not though.

Really great shots, Rick.  Thanks for posting them.  I appreciate your sharing the results of all the research you've done.  I need to reposition the water tank in Greencastle on my layout to where you show it.

If you mean the train water tower, hang on, I guessed...lol, we need to ask someone who has the sanborn or val map for the exact location. It is much easier for me to move mine then for you to move yours...lol

Here ya go, Guys!  The engine in this 1931 west-looking photo is at the north end of the passenger platform,  The foreground street is (present-day) US 231.  So the tank was across the tracks from the depot, as Rick has portrayed it.  Note there is not any Monon lettering on the tank, at least not in 1931.

And if you're going to have the water tank, don't forget the plug!  See the second, 1946 photo, also of a northbound, arriving at the south end of the platform.  If there was only one plug, I suspect the tank would have been adjacent to it, just out of sight to the right of this shot.

Thanks Tim

For the water spout/plug at Greencastle, they have been added, the picture you saw is an earlier undone version picture.

Good eye though!!!!

We were still wondering where the water tank during the steam era was for the Orleans water tank exactly at.

That I don't know, Rick.  Never seen anything about a water tank at Orleans, nor does the Monon's July 1940 diagram showing tank locations list anything for Orleans.  One in Mitchell, one in Salem, one at French Lick, but none in Orleans.

Looking closer at that first photo I posted, I can now see there was indeed a second plug at Greencastle, near the north end of the passenger platform.  Just to the right of the tank in the photo, you can see the top of the plug's vertical component, looking something like a large bell and as if it was mounted in the middle of the tender's coal bunker.
