A recent notice in the Lafayette Journal & Courier
about ex-Monon railroader Robert Howe:


Robert L. and Ruth B. Howe of Lafayette will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner.

Mr. Howe and the former Ruth Becker were married March 26, 1952, in Lafayette.

She is the former co-owner of Southside Restaurant in Monon, and he is retired from Monon Railroad.

Their children are Debra Howe McGonigle of Grand Rapids, Mich., Dan Howe (wife: Teresa), and Doug Howe (wife: Sharon), both of Lafayette, Doreen Howe Williams of Brandon, Fla., and Donna Howe Williams (husband: Robert) of Tampa, Fla.

They also have 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The anniversary notice was also published Sunday March 25.  At that time, I mailed a special card from our organization.

Looks like Bob is in good health.  He was a pleasure to work with.  I'm not positive, but I believe Bob was the person who called me on the city phone from Wanatah to tell me that No. 57 had derailed several autos there. Lordy, that's been 45 years ago.
