Last Saturday we ran the Business Car LYNNE on the Indiana Railway Museum excursion train on two trips.  We "upgraded" several passengers who had bought tickets for the excursion train to ride in the LYNNE.  It was a lot of fun and we made a few new friends and the "upgrades" were real happy !

See link below to a short video of the 1st run returning to French Lick.  The French Lick Springs Hotel is in the background.

Cool.  Good to see the Lynne rolling Up & Down the IRM.
Are all of the electrical & mechanical systems working OK?

We should stock a box of Monon Society brochures in the car,
to hand out to "upgrades" and other friends.

The work on the car is progressing very well.  Today Bill and I tweaked the generator's RPM a little with a meter.   We also took the roof hatch off the car using a boom truck to get to the AC to check out the condensation drain, put a new belt on the blower and repair a loose bellows between the blower and the duct work.  We were loose a lot of cool air into the "attic" so to speak.   We still need to reseal the hatch, make some needed enhancements to the hatch, then the roof will be ready for sandblasting and painting.  Standing on the roof of this car is like standing on the deck of an aircraft carrier.

The next step in getting the car ready for the convention is having the carpet replaced.  As soon as that is done we will talk to the furniture supplier about production and delivery of the new dining furniture.  There will be another trial run before the convention.

The only systems not operational are the water and waste water.  There are restrooms in the City of Jasper train so those are not a high priority this year.

As for painting the car we are planning on it remaing Red & Gray as the LYNNE was.  The air conditioner would have to work to hard to keep the black and gold scheme cool inside.
