Circa 1940 Heavyweight Passenger Cars

I want to put together an O Scale  Monon passenger train Circa 1940.  The Nov. 1939 Official Guide lists "sleeping cars" on trains 3-19 and 4-28 between Chicago and Louisville, but does not indicate what type they were. Does anyone know if they were 12-1 or 8-1-2 cars? No 35 and 36, The Midnight Specials, are listed the same way.  Cully Kowal

While this does not answer your question, I have found references to the following Pullman cars in service on the Monon during the years noted.

During 1934, AMERICAN FORD, MANIPUR, KIPTON, DELCO, FORT DAVIS, LAKE HENDERSON, & CANADA.

During 1948, at French Lick, STOWE, SWINBURNE, BUNYAN, YELLOWSTONE PARK, & RATON.

I have come across the names of two addition Pullman cars in CI&L service again from 1934. The cars were FORT MADISON, and PORT DUME.

anyone else that may be interested.  AMERICAN FORD, PLAN 2521A,10 SEC. LOUNGE OBS; MANIPUR, KIPTON, DELCO, & CANADA, PLAN 2410, 12 SEC.-1 DR;  FORT DAVIS, PLAN 2585D, 8 SEC-1 DR - 1 COMPT.   At French Lick: STOWE & SWINBURNE, PLAN 3523, 6 COMPT., 3 DR.  BUYAN (Nothing Found)  YELLOWSTONE PARK, a Pennsy Car, PLAN 3962, 4 DR.- 4 COMPT.; and RATON, PLAN 2522A, 7 COMPT,- 2 DR. No wonder I could not find Buyan.  Should have looked for the car as it was correctly spelled: BUNYAN.  That was a 6 comp, 3 DR., Plan  3523.  FORT MADISON, PLAN 2521A, 6 SEC.- OBS LOUNGE.  The "Pullman Project. com" has quite a few cars listed.  However, no PORT DUME listed there.  Cully Kowal

All the Pullman car names I listed previously came off of CI&L documents. An unofficial document also lists thes cars as having operated on the Monon, BROAD RIPPLE, EMBASSY, PEORIA, PRESIDENT CLEVELAND, PRESIDENT GRANT, ROCK CREEK, & ROCK GLEN.

Some of these cars made it to Red-Grey colors.

Does anyone have a list of the ones that did, (like Pullman Parlor #56)
