I have been through Harrodsburg the town. Never knew where the depot was. So with the help of the Ron, Internet maps & the list. We were able to find were the depot sat & the bridge just north of it.

Hard to tell that was once a very busy place on the railroad.
BTW: The road that ran from Harrodsburg town to the depot was cut when Highway 37 was rerouted.

It doesn't take mother nature very long to reclaim an old right-of-way.

Here is a drawing/map of Harrodsburg depot area, from almost a century ago (1915).
Found this recently in one of the "misc" drawers in Archives.

Excellent map Ken, thanks for posting it.  I have a 1910 photo of Harrodsburg looking north, and in that photo the car house sat to the west side of the main south of the depot.  If you look at the area today, you would never believe there was room for all those facilities in that space.  / Ron

PS, when I ran down there, there was nothing at the north end of Harrodsburg but the two block signals and the bridge.

...wonder when the depot came down?  Couple years back my Brother in law and I were bumming around there and stumbled on a geocache hidden near the old water tower....though it was a land mine at first.  We also took my Suburban a down the right of way as far south as we could go to an old signal base.  Found a lens off of a semaphore.....pretty good day.

Harrodsburg (Hd) was last shown as  an open station/telegraph (Code "D" ) on CIL Employee Timetable #62 (Superceded by # 63 on July 10. 1933). It was still shown on timetables to the end and beyond (I other words on LN TTs)

My 16 year old got a jeep this summer. This fall we took a trip South on the old Monon from Harradsburg.  What it must have been like in a diesel. Got the same feeling on the B-Line trail in Bloomington. I,m just glad someone took pics before it was gone.
