Last Monon Steam In Color

I happened across this rare picture last evening and thought I would share it with everyone.  Color photos of Monon steam are rare, and this color picture of engine #95, the last operating Monon steam engine, taken at or near the end of her career, is even more so.  This from a copy slide in the Larry Boyd collection, photographer unknown.  / Ron

Looked in my Monon books for information on the last 0-6-0 that was retired in 1949.  I found photos of #95 on page 227 of Hilton's "MONON ROUTE".  Since the photos were taken in the K&IT Youngtown yard, was she last used on the Monon in switching and local service in the New Albany area?

#95 was a Class B-8 and renumbered in 1947 from #35.  Hilton's book's Roster says it was built in 12/1907 and Dolzall & Dolzall's book says 1/1908.  There were two 0-6-0 Class B-9s that were renumbered from 37 and 38 to 97 and 98.  35, 37 and 38 were renumbered and 37 and 38 retired in 1947, whereas #95 was used until 1949.

The closest N scale 0-6-0 model that I can find is at:

but the tender is somewhat shorter.

Stew, she worked her last day on the New Albany yard job on June 28, 1949, and that evening at the K&IT roundhouse in Louisville they dropped her fires for the last time.  / Ron

So was the numbering and script Hoosier Line white or yellow? I can't really tell from the photo.
