Westville Postcards
« on: January 10, 2013, 11:08:57 am »
I recently found three postcards on the Internet (which I cleaned up) that have railroad content.  Is this the Monon?  All of them show scenes of Main Street in Westville and appear to be quite old.

Yes they are Westville. I have had copies of those postcards on the Bygone site for a couple years now. I believe they came from the LaPorte County Historical Society, or maybe Mike Albert. Early 1900's I would guess.

Yes, that is beautiful downtown Westville, looking east.  The building in the middle pic had a bowling alley.  It burned down in the late 1960's.  The Monon depot was torn down in 1964.
